Workshops for various instruments
OKTOPUS - Kanadisches Klezmer Ensemble in Leipzig
Zeit & Ort
23. März 2026, 17:00 – 18:00
Kultur- und Begegnungszentrum Ariowitsch, Hinrichsenstraße 14, 04105 Leipzig, Deutschland
Über die Veranstaltung
Intended more specifically for music students, these workshops are designed for
smaller groups and go more in depth into the specifics of Eastern European music.
How are classical instruments used to interpret this music? What are the possibilities
of each instrument? What role does each instrument play? What is the difference
between Western scales and rhythms and those found in Eastern European music?
This workshop is punctuated by several musical examples and students are invited to
play with the musicians of the group.
Upon request, scores and audio files can be sent to the teachers a few weeks before
the workshop, so that they can prepare them with their students and perform them
with the group during the workshop. If the workshop takes place before the band's
performance, the students can be invited to come and play a piece on stage.

Languages: French and English
Audience: about 15 students per workshop
